The Way of Honor

In the past several weeks Pastor Jeff has focused on the first family pillar necessary in the house of God … to be a place where a new identity in Christ Jesus can begin to take shape and is able to be nurtured. As we venture into the second pillar we find that the family is a place where people learn about honor, humility, respect and reward. Built into the fabric of our humanity, by God’s design, is a divine kingdom theme to give honor where honor is due. Only when we have proper humility can we understand the value of honor. In the context of family we learn to understand our position and status in relation to God and others becoming humble and giving honor in the right domain.

It Takes Truth and a Target

The bible is a practical manual of how to be equipped for life. If you will become wise of the scripture you will become wise in life. Its not just about theology, it about being equipped for every good work in LIFE. The ONE thing that we should aim at is knowing God. Help us to surround ourselves with those who have a high purpose, and a high calling that spur us on to the work of your kingdom.

“But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.” – Timothy 6:11-12

It Takes Time

Of the six components necessary to cement the relational bond needed to secure our new identity in Christ, time is the most rudimentary. Though we all have it we often struggle with establishing priorities and making choices that result in it’s most effective use. Time both in quality and quantity are required to cement the bond of a strong growth oriented relationship. Choosing to be with and to learn from one who embraces a life of true godliness, living within the spiritual power of their anointing, will mature our new identity pressing it in until it becomes part of the fabric of our being. To bond requires time … we all have the same amount … what will you choose to do with it?
