The Father’s Heart

The Father desires that we return to Him that our lives would be planned according to His wisdom. His heart is for us to be filled with the knowledge of the glory of our Lord and to grow to our potential being successful in Him. God wants His glory to be known throughout the earth. He desires the church to be awakened, revived. As followers of Christ, to take up the cross renouncing self centered ambition and asserting His lordship over our lives before the throne of God will open communication with the Father. His voice is the pearl of great price and the relationship the greatest treasure among treasures. Our heavenly Father chooses relationship with us and through obedience to His voice we choose Him as our God. God seeks a people that will hear Him. Commit to listen to Him … to know His heart and be filled with His glory for His grace and love are abundant.

The Way Of Honor

By God’s design we are to become whole as men and women. His desire is for us to be functionally able to display His glory. To do so we must first honor God and live according to His word then through the word choose to intentionally learn to live a life of honor being respectful of one another, family members and those in authority in all realms of society including spiritual leadership. Two guiding principles to intentional living are to love without a mask and to display honor through action. We learn to live by these guidelines through family and if through generational example this has been skewed we have opportunity to recover by the house of God. Live intentionally … God’s honor is cumulative in this life and the next.

Entering the Way of Honor

To move into a place of honor resolution must occur in three areas of life. The first (and biggest) is to ask and reconcile: will I determine to live a life that honors God? It’s impossible to honor Him and simultaneously disregard His word. God has elevated His word above His name and His word is true…non negotiable. The second is that of an internal issue: giving honor is never based on another’s behavior; it is given for honor’s sake. We must humble ourselves before God honoring His ordinances lest we be humbled. Lastly, we must resolve the external issue: we must believe that, in due time, God will reward those who diligently seek Him regardless of the surrounding circumstances. God is faithful and will keep His word to honor those who honor Him.

Honor’s Challenge Part 2

The second challenge that we face as we learn to walk in honor is that of the “I” life. The battle encompasses the desire to be recognized and be honored rather than to honor. Because of sin, our old nature fancies to keep our inherent selfishness exalted rather than to submit to the word of God. We must learn to live a life of surrender as we are unable to both please God and live according to our selfish nature. If any have been dishonored or defiled then a third challenge arises … to turn from the wounded or damaged place to accept healing. Unless the woundedness has been openly addressed and appropriately healed through God’s bathing grace the damage caused by the defilement will spill over on to others. God’s bountiful grace will heal us from the inside out … beauty for ashes bathed in the oil of joy as we submit to His touch.

Honor’s Challenge

The Lord says, “… for those who honor Me I will honor, and those who despise Me shall be lightly esteemed”. Honor by definition is to rightly recognize and relate to the value, substance and significance of others – God and people. In order that we might understand God’s favor, it’s important to learn and know how to walk in honor and humility. One of the challenges met when moving on the course of learning honor is to know when to set aside our right to dissent. We must accept that God operates according to kingdom order not democratic principles and it is on our shoulders to understand kingdom order according to Jesus. He reigns as King and we must surrender in obedience to His word as it is the safest place for the outcome of our lives. To honor our King is to be positioned to walk in the favor of God being assured of answered prayer and divine protection.

JAG-New Orleans Trip

JAG is in New Orleans being the hands and feet of Christ! The group left on June 28th to go minister to the people that are still living with the consequences of hurricane Katrina.They will be coming back on July 5th. Please pray for them this week. Pray that they will be able to minister the love of Christ to all those they come in contact with. We can’t wait to hear what God had done!

The Way of Honor

In the past several weeks Pastor Jeff has focused on the first family pillar necessary in the house of God … to be a place where a new identity in Christ Jesus can begin to take shape and is able to be nurtured. As we venture into the second pillar we find that the family is a place where people learn about honor, humility, respect and reward. Built into the fabric of our humanity, by God’s design, is a divine kingdom theme to give honor where honor is due. Only when we have proper humility can we understand the value of honor. In the context of family we learn to understand our position and status in relation to God and others becoming humble and giving honor in the right domain.
